We make emergency help accessible. We provide a free mobile web app that helps anyone communicate with 911, in particular, people with disabilities, those who do not communicate in English, and those who are unable to speak out loud for help.
accesSOS was founded when Gabriella's deaf father had a gallbladder rupture and was unable to use his cell phone to call 911 for help. The current 911 system is designed to give emergency help to people who are able to hear, speak out loud, and understand fluent English. Even though these groups pay the same amount of taxes as their hearing, English speaking neighbors-- in a crisis, they are not able to speak with dispatchers.
We’re looking for people that believe everyone deserves equal access, for people who are passionate about what they believe in, and aren't afraid to tap into their network to ask for help. We want to invest in you and support you to get where you want to go. We believe that by equipping people with the best tools to solve their own problems, we can tackle the whole world's problems better, together. We're always looking for talented humans who are interested in building the future alongside us.
